Release information appears at the end. ************************************************* SPECIAL EVENT SCHEDULE Contact: Craig D'Ooge, Public Affairs Office A number of special events have been scheduled in connection with the Library of Congress exhibition "Rome Reborn: The Vatican Library and Renaissance Culture," January 8 - April 30, 1993. The following is a schedule of events planned, to date: January 6 10 a.m.-12 noon: Press Preview, Great Hall, Jefferson Building. (Press only.) January 7 12 noon: Thomas P. Melady, U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, will deliver a lecture on "The History of Diplomatic Relations Between the United States and the Holy See," Mumford Room, Madison Building. (Open to the public.) January 8 9 a.m.: Exhibition opens to the public Enter through West Front doors, Great Hall, Jefferson Building. 12 noon: Father Leonard Boyle, Prefect of the Vatican Library, will deliver a lecture on the Vatican Library, Members Room, 1st Floor, Jefferson Building. (Open to the public.) January 20 Special tour for Members of Congress before the inauguration. (Not open for coverage.) February 4 6 p.m.: Series of public lectures on topics related to the Vatican Library begins, continuing Thursday evenings through April 22. (Details to be announced.) February 8 Mary Pickford Theater in the Madison building will present a film series in conjunction with the exhibition, through March 5. (Details to be announced.) April 1-3 International Musicological Conference focused on the music of the Archivio Cappella Sistina, titled "Music and Text in Roman Sacred Repertories, 1430-1600." (Details to be announced.)
